Requirements and goals
We sit down with you to work out what the project has to solve, to talk through ideas and to look at what already exists. That meeting produces goals in writing, and they are the yardstick for every decision after it.
About contágio
At contágio, we believe the time between the idea and the doing should be as short as it can be.
We are an agency built for people who do not only want to think, but to act.
We put strategy, creativity and technology together to transform brands, launch projects and move businesses along.
Every client is different, but they all have one thing in common: they are ready. Ready to grow, to change, to stand out.
So everything at contágio is set up to be ready too: the right brand, at the right moment, with the right tools.
14+ years of it.
contágio was born in 2012, in Aveiro — a city of innovation, canals and a creative energy that never lets up.
It was there that people from different backgrounds, but with the same view of things, crossed paths: some in love with technology, others with marketing strategy, and with what design and communication can do.
Brought together by shared projects and by the wish to do it differently, they decided to build an agency that would be more than a supplier of services: a partner to brands with ambition.
From the start the mission was plain: take ideas off the page and set them moving — with method, with a view of where they are going, and with the right tools. While the world was talking about Marketing 2.0, contágio was already thinking about relationships, experience and content worth reading — the real Marketing 3.0.
Based in Aveiro, but working nationally and internationally, we have grown alongside start-ups, family firms, and brands both small and large. Always on the same principle: when everything is in the right place, it is time to act.
Today, more than a decade on, the essence is unchanged: the minds are still restless, and there is one mission — to make sure your brand is ready. Ready to speak, to compete and to grow.
We have no manifesto. We have three habits you can see in any work of ours.
First, understand before proposing. No project starts with a colour palette or with the choice of a technology. It starts with questions about the business, about who buys, and about what has already gone wrong before.
Second, what gets built has to be manageable. A website your team cannot update, or a brand with no rules written down, is back where it started within two years. So we hand over manuals, training and credentials.
Third, say what cannot be guaranteed. We do not promise first places on search engines or percentage growth. We say what we will do, how it gets measured, and what depends on you.
The route is the same on every project, from a logo to a platform wired into several systems. What changes is how long each phase takes, not the order.

We study the requirements, draw the first phase in concept and design, weigh up the possible technologies and their pros and cons, and put forward a proposal with scope, phases, deliverables and price.
We design, build and review, with checkpoints booked into the diary. We test with real content and on screens of every size. The details get settled here, not after going live.
We set up the hosting, publish, and check the addresses, the forms and the tracking. Then we show your team how to run what we have handed over, and stay close by for the next phase.
A small team of design, development and marketing, where the person who presents the project is the person who does it. We do not pass work to others without saying so: when a speciality is subcontracted, it is written into the proposal.

The portfolio is the best way to see how we work: Noeirinha, Credimax and Feitoria do Cacao are three projects that went through design, development and marketing. See the full portfolio.
If you are thinking about a project, tell us what you need on the quote form and you get a proposal back. If you would rather drop by the office in Aveiro, or talk first, use the contact page.
Tell us when suits you and we will come back with a confirmation. It is not an automatic booking: a person always confirms the meeting.
